Hi there! Nice to meet you.
When COVID-19 hit (and boy, did it hit hard), we thought carefully about things we could do as a small, early-stage business. Many people told us that we should "sit back and ride this out" and that this was time to "hunker down and survive". This was practical advice, but we knew there was another option: do something to help.
Our factory has since started using its production capacity to manufacture reusable "citizen-grade" masks. While not medical grade (which should most definitely be set aside for frontline healthcare workers), we had done the research and knew that there were so many other frontline workers out there who needed protection. We became increasingly aware there was a global shortage, so we got to work fast. In just a few days, we were able to work out logistics with our factory and start production.
We've priced our masks low with a small margin to cover operating costs, to make them accessible for everyone.
To all the non-healthcare frontline workers: delivery drivers, grocery workers, postal workers, taxi/ride-share drivers, sanitation workers, journalists, public servants - THANK YOU for providing essential services and keeping our communities moving forward.
If you have any questions or just want to chat, we'd love to hear from you. Please don't hesitate to reach out at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All the best,
Xenia Chen, Founder
